The Department of Transportation has released funds to help major cities replace aging diesel bus fleets with zero-emission electric buses. The grants also fund depot charging grid upgrades.
Transit authorities estimate that shifting to electric buses will cut urban carbon outputs while reducing maintenance costs by forty percent over the lifecycle of the vehicles.
