National Smart Grid Expansion Phase Two Approved
The Federal Ministry of Power has greenlit the secondary deployment phase of the nation's unified smart grid initiative.

The modernization of the national power infrastructure took a major step forward today with the approval of Smart Grid Phase Two. The initiative aims to integrate regional transmission lines with advanced load-balancing algorithms, mitigating grid overload risks during peak season demand. Officials stated that telemetry monitoring will be deployed across major distribution substations.
Core Project Milestones
- Integration of 45GW of solar and wind generation capacity into the central dispatch loop.
- Installation of 12 million automated smart meters across urban areas.
- Deployment of high-voltage direct current lines to minimize transmission line resistance losses.
The project is expected to complete within 18 months, reducing energy losses by 14% and establishing a robust base for green electricity transmission.
